Today's art journal (above) is charcoal on gessoed image transfer. I'm naming it "Joey" after the War Horse movie, which I thought I was going to hate, but ended up loving. I found this little figure in a bin at school, and decided to draw it, holding it in my hand. So, I did....at school...on another sheet of paper...in pencil (see below). So, in my journal, I did an image transfer with gel medium, put clear gesso over it, and then enhanced with charcoal. That's what you see above. That's also why it looks like the horse is in my right hand, where it originally was held in my left as I drew with my right (below).
